Notary Services

AAA Northampton County and AAA Schuylkill County provide notary services for Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing transactions; our employees are highly trained in these types of transactions. Our notaries are not licensed to practice law in this Commonwealth. Therefore, are unable to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities. 

Notarial Acts AAA Northampton County or AAA Schuylkill County may perform:

  • Acknowledgements*
  • Certificates**

Including:

  • Wills
  • Living Wills
  • Medical Directive
  • Depositions/Law Suits
  • Lease or Rental Agreements
  • Mortgage or Refinance Documents
  • Divorce Decrees
  • Deeds and Subdivision Paperwork
  • Custody/Guardianship Documents
  • Motor Vehicle Documents

All documents must have the proper notarial wording included; if not, customer must contact the maker of the document and request what notarial act is required. If the customer is unable to provide what type of notarial act is required, we will refuse service.

*AAA Northampton County and AAA Schuylkill County WILL NOT PROVIDE any witnesses to any document. All witnesses must be present, along with the ENTIRE document, and sign prior to the notary placing her/his signature and stamp.

**Certified copies of any official document can be obtained ONLY from the government authority that issued or has custody of the original. We can NOT certify birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, transcripts, grade report, or any document issued by a school, college, or university.

The notary may refuse to perform a notarial act, unless refusal is prohibited by law, if the Notary is not satisfied that:

  • The individual signing the record is competent and has the capacity to sign the record;
  • The individual is signing the record voluntarily, without coercion;
  • The individual’s signature reasonably appears like the signature (if any) on the identification;
  • The individual’s physical appearance reasonably appears like the photograph on the identification.

All AAA Northampton County and AAA Schuylkill County members receive free notarial services as follows:

  • Basic Members: First 3 seals free*
  • Plus Members: First 5 seals free*
  • Premier Members: Unlimited seals
  • Non-Members/Members of other AAA Clubs will pay a $5 Notary fee for each seal

The Notary Public Law states that we must be sure of the customer's identity through our own personal knowledge or through satisfactory evidence presented to us by the customer*. If the customer's identity is not known to us, then it must be proven by the customer or service will be refused.
