Celebrating 100 Years!

Posted - May 2, 2018
For 100 years we have rescued you on the road in times of trouble, we have handed out maps and tour guides, we have helped guide you on the highways, we have helped you book your travel, we have insured you, we have educated you, we have helped you save money.

At the turn of the last century, only an estimated 23,000 motor vehicles were registered in the United States, compared to 17 million horses. In 1902 there were only 143 miles of paved roads. Roads were treacherous and driving restrictive. Vehicles, unreliable at best and scorned by owners of horse-drawn carriages, were targeted with unfair traffic laws. Fortunately, conditions began to change in 1902 when delegates from nine independent motor clubs representing fewer than 1,000 members came together in Chicago to form the American Automobile Association. AAA has been on your side to push for better roads and combat harsh laws being passed to regulate the automobile. Original TripTiks mainly used descriptions and landmarks since roads did not have numbers yet. AAA was organized to protect the rights, safety, comfort and economic well being of all motorists and travelers.

AAA Northampton County was established on May 27th, 1918 and has remained the only local autoclub since 1918. We started inside Hotel Easton, then in the late 1960's moved to a building across from Meuser Park in Wilson Borough PA. The office moved to our current location; 3914 Hecktown Road in 1971. Renovations to the current building were completed in 2006. We continue to improve and maintain our facility for our members so we may still provide our services to you well into the future.

Come help us celebrate 100 years of service to Northampton County during our 100 year celebration from May 12th through May 25th. There will be specials on tour and cruise packages, membership specials and more! More Information, click here!
